Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

• Account info — your username, email address, and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in plain text).
• Gameplay data — your monsters, pets, inventory, progress, and in-game currency, so your ranch saves correctly.
• Chat messages — messages you send in-game are stored so chat history and moderation work.
• Security data — a hashed (not raw) version of your IP address, used to rate-limit requests and enforce bans.
• Discord ID — only if you choose to link your account with !dlink.
• Device & ad data — on mobile, ad-network partners may collect device identifiers and ad-interaction data to show and measure ads. This is handled by those third parties under their own privacy policies, not directly by us.

2. How we use it

• To run your account and save your progress.
• To keep the Game fair — detecting cheating, spam, and abuse, and enforcing bans.
• To moderate chat and respond to reports.
• To improve the Game based on how it's actually played.

3. Third-party services

MonsteRanch uses a small number of third-party services to run:

• Ad networks (mobile) — may collect device data to serve and measure ads.
• Discord — powers our community server, the live member widget on this site, and optional account linking.
• itch.io — hosts and distributes the Game; the embedded widget on this site is served directly from itch.io.

Each of these operates under its own privacy policy, which we'd encourage you to read.

4. How long we keep it

We keep account and gameplay data for as long as your account exists. If you'd like your account and associated data deleted, contact us (see below) and we'll action it, aside from records we're required to keep for security or legal reasons.

5. Children's privacy

MonsteRanch isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

6. Your choices

• You can unlink Discord at any time with !dunlink.
• You can request a copy of, or the deletion of, your account data by contacting us.

7. Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect or how we use it, we'll update this page and change the "last updated" date above.
